When we test your phone we are checking to see if your line is working. When we make a test call we need to know if we should expect an answering machine. If you have voicemail with AT&T or other remote voicemail options please select "I do not have an answering machine."

Do you pay for other services on your AT&T Bill?
Some people have multiple phone lines with AT&T and they are only moving one or two to Fusion. Some people pay for other services like DirectTV on their AT&T bill. If you have other services you will need to continue paying for these services or have them billed separately. If you advertise in the AT&T Yellow Pages you will continue to receive a bill for your ad.

New lines take 3-5 days to install and existing number ports take 5-7 days. Once your order is placed and we will send you a message to let you know the estimated install date.

Modem
A modem is required to connect to our service. You can purchase or rent a modem from us or bring your own if you have a compatible model. Fusion services comes in ADSL, ADSL2+ and VDSL. To obtain the bests speed you may need a newer modem.

We give you both options because we want you to have a choice. Maybe you can't afford to purchase one now and want to rent. Maybe you just like having the peace of mind that if your modem goes out you can swap it for a new one. Or maybe you think it's a better value to purchase it up front.

Caller ID
CallerID is included on all incoming calls. Answering this question tells us if you want your number blocked for outbound calls only. Caller ID blocking is one of several phone features included for free with your Fusion phone service. For a complete list you can check out our Phone Features page.

You can also block or unblock your number on a one time basis using a * code.

International Calling
It does not cost anything to have international calling turned on. Fusion includes free unlimited calls to land lines in any country code labeled "Billed as Domestic" (Over 66 Countries!).

Call Waiting
Call waiting is included free of charge. If you have call waiting you can switch between calls. If it is disabled incoming calls will receive a busy signal or go to voicemail.

Static IP
Each device that connects to the Internet gets an Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to it. Most people do not need a static IP and we will dynamically assign you a new number each time you use the Internet. You may need a static IP if you want to remotely access your computer or if you log in to a site that requires a static IP. If you don't know what a static IP is and you haven't been instructed by one of your IT staff then you probably don't need one.

New Phone Company
We will be switching your local and long distance phone company from your current provider to Sonic Telecom. You will not get a separate bill from Sonic, just the bill from MCN.

Final Bill
When we switch your service you often do not need to call your old provider to cancel. However we do recommend that you contact your current provider after your Fusion conversion has completed. If you have AT&T Uverse service you will need to cancel it separately.
Final Bill
Customer is responsible for any obligations you may have with your current phone/internet company. This may include early termination fees or other obligations involved with bundled packages. Many businesses have a contract with their current provider. Please confirm that you are out of contract as you can incur early termination fees.

Conversion Process
When your line is converted to Fusion the line that goes from your house to the central office will be disconnected from AT&T and connected to our equipment. During the transition you will not have dial tone, internet, 911 or anything else.

You do not need to be present during the transition; however, you do need to be at your home by 5 PM on the day of the transfer to confirm that everything is working. If we do not hear from you on your transition day, we will begin billing for the service.

Fusion Service Provisions
These are subject to change as noted in section I) A. of the MCN Contract.
Auto Payments
All Fusion customers must pay by credit card or electronic fund transfer from a checking or savings account. Your service will be billed from the 1st of the month to the 1st of the month. Some pro-rating of your bill may occur if you are an existing customer and your bill date is changed to the 1st of the month.

I authorize you, MENDOCINO COMMUNITY NETWORK (“MCN”), to initiate ACH Debits or Paper Drafts ("Debit Entries") to my deposit account ("Account") at my Financial Institution named below. This authorization is for the payment of recurring monthly amounts I owe MCN for Internet Services. IN ORDER TO TERMINATE OR REVOKE THIS AUTHORIZATION, I MUST NOTIFY MCN, THE ORIGINATING COMPANY, IN WRITING. So long as this authorization has not been terminated or revoked, any Debit Entry originated by MCN, under this authorization shall be conclusively presumed to be properly payable against my MCN Account. I CAN STOP PAYMENT OF ANY SINGLE DEBIT ENTRY BY NOTIFYING MCN OR MY FINANCIAL INSTITUTION THREE (3) DAYS BEFORE MY DEPOSIT ACCOUNT IS CHARGED.

I understand that if there are insufficient funds in my Account when any authorized Debit Entry is presented, my Financial Institution may, at its discretion, pay or refuse to pay the Debit Entry, and may apply its usual returned check fees and charges. MCN may also charge a bounce payment fee. I also understand that if my Financial Institution refuses to accept a Debit Entry for any reason, MCN will not reprocess it without further reauthorization from me. I authorize my Financial Institution to charge these Debit Entries to my Account upon receipt and without advice to me.

Authorized Debit Entries: MCN is authorized to originate Debit Entries to my Account to pay recurring amounts I owe you in the FIRST WEEK of the month. The amount of these recurring payments may vary; however, no Debit Entry in any month may exceed the current amount owed to MCN. All notices and advices will be sent to the email address on my MCN account. I also authorize adjustment entries in the event of erroneous transactions to my account. I hereby certify that I am an owner and authorized signer of the Account. MCN may supply a copy of this Authorization Agreement to my Financial Institution or to MCN's Bank upon request.


Inside Wiring
We make sure all the wiring works up to the MPOE (Minimum Point of Entry). This is usually a small phone box on the side of the house. When there are problems with the wire on the outside of the house or on the pole you can contact MCN and we will resolve this for you. If there is a problem with an inside wire we will work with you to repair or to find a consultant who can help you fix the problem.
Inside Wiring
Fusion requires a standard phone jack to connect your modem. Customer is responsible for inside phone wiring. MCN does not offer WirePro service but will help you find an inside wiring consultant. Customer is responsible for all aspects of the local area network at their site. Fusion may not work if more than 5 jacks are used on the same phone line.

Special Jacks
For best results, your DSL modem should be six feet away from any device emitting RF signal (TV, stereo speakers, answering machine, UPS etc.). DSL is delivered on a "best effort" basis.

If you have an after hours problem with your phone service you can call into our office and one of our techs can start a trouble ticket for you.

By initialing below and signing at the end you are authorizing MCN to take your current phone from your current provider and switch to Fusion service.

I hereby select Sonic Telecom, LLC to be my local exchange provider and authorize Sonic Telecom or its designated agent, The Mendocino Community Network, to act on my behalf in dealings with our current local exchange telephone company. Sonic Telecom or its designated agent, The Mendocino Community Network may place orders for new services and changes to existing services. This authorization covers the following locations and lead billing telephone numbers and shall remain in effect until further written notice is provided. I understand that I can have only one local service provider for anyone telephone number.

By signing below, I am authorizing Sonic Telecom, LLC to become my new telephone service provider in place of for the provision of local telephone service and in place of for the provision of long distance telephone services. I authorize Sonic Telecom or its designated agent, The Mendocino Community Network to act as my agent to make this change happen, and direct and to work with Sonic Telecom, LLC and its Agent, the Mendocino Community Network to effect the change.

I understand that if I wish to return to my current local telephone company, I may be required to pay a reconnection charge to that company. I also understand that my new local telephone company may have different rates and charges than my current telephone company, and that by signing below I indicate that I understand those differences (if any) and am willing to be billed accordingly.

I authorize Sonic Telecom to provide local and long distance service to my telephone number(s) , and no others.

I certify that I have read and understand the Letter of Authorization. I further certify that I am at least eighteen years of age, and that I am authorized to change telephone companies for services to the telephone numbers listed above.

Customer acknowledges that The Mendocino Community Network is acting as an Agent for Sonic Telecom, LLC, a duly certificated telecommunications carrier. Sonic Telecom, LLC is providing the network facilities for your telecommunications traffic and is responsible for working with other telecommunications carriers to arrange for the proper porting of telephone numbers. Sonic Telecom, LLC or XO Communications is the entity to whom telephone numbers are legally assigned. I also authorize Sonic Telecom, LLC and its Agent to act as my agent to notify my local phone company of my decision to change my current long distance service to Sonic Telecom service. I understand that my local phone company may charge me a fee to switch long distance carriers. Selection of Sonic Telecom will apply to the telephone number(s) listed on this form. I, the customer, understand that I may designate only one inter-exchange carrier for one telephone number for interLATA and, where applicable, intraLATA usage, and hereby designate Sonic Telecom as my primary carrier.

Data transfer rates between customer premise and Central office are influenced by several factors including line quality and loop length. Customer must identify servers on Fusion lines. Customer may be subject to further charges for excessive bandwidth if servers impact the network. In the event underlying third parties terminate MCN's access to wholesale Fusion services, MCN may terminate this agreement. All accounts are covered by the MCN Acceptable Use Policy.
